About Us

History

Bray’s taste for fine beers started in the 1970’s, buying imports and Anchor Brewing products.  He moved to the Pacific Northwest in the 1980’s just as craft beer started it’s resurgence with beers like Sierra Nevada, Red Hook, Rogue and others.  He started home brewing, learned all grain mashing and was hearing from friends that if his beer was available in the stores, they would buy it.  After going to a hands on brewing school at Siebel Institute in Chicago and learning brewing from Nick Floyd (founder of Three Floyds Brewing, Indiana) then spending two years looking for the right place to open a brew pub, Mike opened Bray’s Brew Pub & Eatery in 1995.  He designed the brewery, had it manufactured by McCann Metal Fabricators in New Gloucester, Maine, put it together and started brewing. After the sale of the restaurant 2017 Tor partnered with Mike. Now after 1400 batches of beer and over 60 recipes, we are looking at expanding our horizons and providing beer to other restaurants, pubs and bars while adding growlers and cans for retail sales.
